Rick Astley goes to space with help from Simon Pegg and Mission: Impossible crew in music video

Shaun of the Dead star directed promo for British singer's new single "Forever and More."

What do you do when strikes put a pause on you shooting the next installment of a blockbuster action franchise? You write and direct a Rick Astley music video! Or at least you do if you're Simon Pegg.

When this year's strike action by writers and actors prompted work to be halted on the next Mission: Impossible movie, cast member Pegg decided he was never gonna give up on making something.

The Hot Fuzz star and cowriter oversaw the promo clip for Astley's new single "Forever and More" with assistance from the Mission: Impossible crew. The result finds the Brit singer and his band using the power of music to undertake some frankly quite possible missions, such as returning a cat to its owner, before flying off into space.

"I had a blast shooting the video for 'Forever and More' for Rick Astley," says Pegg in a statement. "It was my first time directing on this scale and it was made all more enjoyable by Rick and the band, who were so much fun and by my amazing crew, which was comprised largely of my Mission: Impossible family, along with a wonderful group of can-do professionals all working at the top of their game."
