FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Somerset Mall Face of Fashion annual event kicks off on 2 April at Erinvale Estate, Somerset West. Twelve finalists were selected on 29 March’s final casting at Somerset Mall. The FOF scout team has also been roaming the Helderberg region for the next Face of Fashion to represent Somerset Mall.
The Face of Fashion chain of fashion competitions is held at regional malls throughout 2007. The FOF competition has been held since 2004 at shopping centres including Carlton, Rosebank @ the Zone, Somerset Mall, V&A Waterfront, Eastgate and Northgate with castings at Gateway.
This year’s Miss South Africa, Tansey Coetzee, was the first Face of Fashion contestant to ever win the competition in Eastgate.
Last year’s winner, Nicole Langtry, an 18 year old from Somerset West who frequents the mall, was chosen from a strong group of media judges, including Cape Argus, Radio Helderberg, Daily Voice, Topco Models and the Somerset Mall itself.
The winner of this year’s competition will become the face of Somerset Mall and will be featured on its website, posters and other advertising.
One of the finalists will also receive a test shoot courtesy of Full Circle Modeling Management, the new agency owned by Paul Coetzee and Janez Vermeiren, popular Top Billing presenter and currently featured on Cosmo Sexiest Men for 2008 calender.
The Face of Fashion modeling competition presents participants with a unique chance to launch their careers into modeling. No experience is necessary, as finalists will receive training and a make-over courtesy of Professional Make up.
The hair for the show was done by Lori Mauerberger.
Entrants, if aged between 18-24 and fulfilling the requirements, are also given a preferential interview to Miss SA when they win locally and nationally.
Famous presenters in the past have included the ex Mr and Miss South Africa, Nick Volsteedt and Vanessa Carreira, Colin Moss, Zuraida Jardien and Tumisho Masha.
Well known singer James Stewart will also be there to wow the audience.
