Campaign Story
Hello everyone,
My love for South Africa started in 2016 when my family and I relocated there from France. It has been more than four years now and we still enjoy it to the fullest. We have seen a lot of breathtaking places, travelled to almost every corner of this beautiful country, met a bunch of amazing people and learnt so much just from the every day life here.
At the very beginning of this incredible adventure, we had a chance to go on a guided tour and visit Soweto, a huge town-ship in the south of Johannesburg. Our guide for the day was Nkululeko Shelembe (also called Nkuli). We liked him so much that we returned to Soweto now and again (and still do!) and never hesitated to recommend him as the number 1 choice.
Nkuli is not only a very professional and well-educated person but also a brave and kindhearted founder of The Shalk (Shaping hope and leadership in Kliptown), a non-profit organization that offers various extramural activities for local children of Kliptown. https://www.facebook.com/SOWE22/
However, life happens...and recently everything has changed.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, South Africa has been under lockdown since March 27 and millions of people have been thus heavily affected by the loss of income. Despite these difficult times, Nkuli (being "on hold" workwise) is doing his best by helping 60 families in the Kliptown community with food parcels. Nobody knows how long this uncertain situation will last but I definitely know one thing: in order to survive and stay physically strong, we ALL need access to food and water.
In Kliptown, this food aid represents R350 (18 euros) per month, per household.
On behalf of the Shalk, I would like to encourage you to help the Kliptown community and provide its people with the essential food. Any donation will make a difference.
At the same time, I’m also going to support Nkuli’s initiative with my own personal challenge: Being a Pilates instructor, I will be running 8 donation based classes (4 in English and 4 in French), starting as of May 18. All the profits will go to the Shalk. Feel free to join me on Facebook or YouTube.

...and the dancing crew from the SHALK will teach you their GUMBOOT DANCE!
We both would be very grateful for your help. Please share with your friends.

Thank you
