Operation+Beautiful

Last week, Kingsway’s Interact and Anti-Bullying Clubs teamed up for Operation Beautiful. Operation Beautiful is a national movement to replace negativity and self-doubt with positivity. Every year, Interact Club brings this movement into our school’s halls with post-it notes, made by club members, all around the school. These post-it notes are decorated with positive messages like “be true to yourself” and “smile, everyday is a new beginning”. Over 40 teachers have requested for their doors to be decorated.  Commenting on the annual event, club officer, Andrew Bongiovanni, said “Teens, especially, are prone to thinking negatively and hearing a lot of negative things. So being able to see these positive messages is really important”. Interact Club adviser, Sarah Schugar said,  “In a world that gets bogged down by negativity and self-doubt, particularly in your teenage years, teaching yourself to be positive and think optimistically is an important part of your mental health and success!” Interact Club is a service and leadership club that runs many events throughout the year such as the Food Drive.
