What is biltong?

Biltong is a delicious form of air-dried, cured meat that hails from South Africa. It's usually crafted from premium beef or venison, which is wild game like deer. 

First, the selected quality beef is cut into strips and marinated in a mixture of vinegar and authentic South African spices. Then, the marinated meat is hung up to dry in a cool, well-ventilated area or in specialized Biltong drying cabinets. 

Once the Biltong is perfectly dried, you can enjoy it as is or slice it thinly to savor with your favorite dipping sauce. It also makes a great addition to salads or sandwiches.
