Visit the Kowie Hiking Trail and Nature Reserve

The Kowie Hiking Trail is an 8 km two hour easy walking trail through the Kowie Nature Reserve – perfect for families or anyone wanting to enjoy a bit of the outdoors without too much strain and effort. The trail moves through various habitats, from estuarine grassland to riverine and coastal bush, so you will quite a variety of bird species crossing your path. This trail will also give you plenty of time to spend enjoying the scenery and wildlife along the way.

Kelly’s Beach

Kelly’s Beach on the Sunshine Coast is one of South Africa’s prestigious international Blue Flag beaches. The sandy beach is situated near the Kowie River estuary mouth and is well worth a visit. Two viewing decks offer fantastic viewpoints to watch whales, beach goers, and stunning sunsets. It’s a great swimming beach and offers 5-star facilities. Interpretive boards provide interesting information about some of the unique characteristics of this wonderful beach. The Blue Flag Beach award assures cleanliness, safety, amenities and the upkeep of environmental standards.
