With speculation Keisuke Honda has already put pen to paper to join A-League side Melbourne Victory, the Japanese attacker himself has admitted though a deal is close, nothing has been settled on just yet.
The 32-year-old is a free agent after leaving Mexican club Pachuca and has been a prime target for the A-League this off-season as they chase marquee players.
A reported deal worth $2.9 million appears to be on the table for Honda, who told AbemaTV he's still making up his mind.
"I can only say so much, we're in negotiations," Honda said.
"I want to do things beyond being a player. I've been negotiating with a club that understands what I want to do.

"We've had very positive conversations. It's a team that has been reported.
"Nothing's been decided yet but if everything goes smoothly we should be able to announce in a few days."
Honda would go on to confirm the negotiations were with an Australian club as Victory edge towards filling the void left behind by Leroy George and Besart Berisha.
After playing at the 2018 World Cup for Japan, Honda announced his international retirement but revealed he's set his sights on representing his nation one final time at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
"My goal is to play in Tokyo 2020 as an overage player," he said.
"One of the reasons I want to accomplish this is because it will be hosted in Tokyo. I wanted a goal that would let me compete against the world. I think [the timing] is fate."
