If you're craving action-packed movies and looking to break away from the usual James Bond and Fast and Furious series, you might want to consider giving the XXX movie franchise a shot. While the Xander Cage films may not be as iconic as some of Vin Diesel's other works, like the ‘Fast & Furious’ series, ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ movie series, or his role as Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they still offer entertaining action. There's even potential for the franchise to make a comeback with a fourth instalment in the near future. Since the franchise consists of multiple films, we've organised the XXX movies in chronological order for your convenience.

1. ‘XXX’- 2002

Released on August 9, 2002, the movie features Vin Diesel in the role of Xander Cage, an adventure-loving extreme sports enthusiast, stuntman, and rebellious athlete who is coerced into becoming a spy for the National Security Agency. His mission in the movie is to infiltrate a group of suspected Russian terrorists in Central Europe. The film's box office triumph paved the way for a franchise that includes two more movies, one currently in development, and even a short film.

2. ‘XXX: State Of The Union’- 2005

In the second instalment, ‘State of the Union,’ Vin Diesel's Xander Cage was replaced by Ice Cube's character, Darius Stone, a fresh agent in the programme. Darius is tasked with managing a power struggle among national leaders in Washington, D.C., while it's explained that Xander Cage was supposedly killed in Bora Bora. Despite the absence of Vin Diesel, the movie received considerable acclaim. You can stream this second instalment on Apple TV.

3. 'The Final Chapter: The Death Of Xander Cage'- 2005

‘The Final Chapter: The Death of Xander Cage’ is a short film that serves as a prequel to ‘XXX: State of the Union.’ It provides details about the supposed demise of Xander Cage before the events of the second film.

4. ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’- 2017

Released on January 20, 2017, the film marked the return of Vin Diesel as Xander Cage, a character who emerges from self-imposed exile and is believed to be long dead. He is thrust into a high-stakes showdown with a formidable alpha warrior and their team, all in pursuit of a dangerous and seemingly unstoppable weapon called Pandora's Box. This movie held special significance for Indians as it marked the hollywood debut of Deepika Padukone. You can stream this film on Prime Video.

5. ‘XXX-4’

A fourth movie in the ‘XXX’ franchise has been in development since 2018, and there's speculation that Vin Diesel may reprise his role as Xander Cage, although no official confirmation has been made. Recent news related to ‘XXX’ involves Vin Diesel posting a photo of himself with Deepika Padukone, who made her hollywood debut alongside Diesel in ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage.’ In the caption of the photo, Diesel wrote, ‘Spirit lead me… @deepikapadukone was one of my favourite people to work with. She brought me to India and I loved it, looking forward to my return.’
