Natural Habitat Description 2
A Marabou Stork's natural habitat is in Africa, and live mostly in tropical areas of Africa. Mainly savannas, riverbanks and lake shores. They usually live near human towns because part of their diet is leftover food from humans.

Diet 2
The Marabou Stork is a scavenger that feeds with many other of its kind and eats a wide variety of food. It mainly feeds on fish, snakes, and mice near the water of their habitat. They also eat bugs and food waste from humans in nearby villages.

Physical/Behavioral/Physiological Adaptions 2
This particular bird has a very unusual appearance because it has a visible red throat air sac that can inflate and deflate and has another air sac behind it's head which is covered by feathers. Marabou Stork's also have long tan beaks used for catching its prey and long legs for movement in tropical environments. They have a chest made up of white feathers and wings covered with dark grey or black feathers. Adult Marabou Storks can weigh up to 5-6 kg or 12-14 lbs and could have a wingspan up to 4 m or 12 ft.

Conservation Status/Threats 2
The Marabou Stork is of little concern to conservationists because there are a large population of them. Also the population has greatly increased over time.
