Businesses in Cape Town's CBD were hit hard by the lockdown that was implemented in March last year.

On Wednesday, the Cape Town Central Improvement District (CCID) released a special Covid-19 edition of the annual State of Cape Town Central City Report 2020 - A year in review.

The report revealed the number of business entities that were dealt a heavy blow by the onslaught of Covid-19 dropped from 3 321 to 2 846, with 475 businesses either closing their doors permanently or relocating elsewhere.
