Obituary
Mr. Timothy Ray “Tim” Payne, age 53, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Tim was born December 1, 1969, in Dalton, Georgia. He worked many years at Shaw Industries and Lonesome Oak Trading Company.
Tim was preceded in death by a brother and sisters-in-law, Darrell E. and Tracy Payne, and Lorri Payne.
Tim was one of a kind, a good Husband, a great Dad, a faithful Son and Brother. He was a jokester, always laughing, and his family said there was not a serious bone in his body.
He is survived by his parents, Roy Clarence and Carolyn Ruth Cearley Payne of Tunnel Hill, GA; wife, Angelia Nicole “Nikki” Brown Payne of Resaca, GA; son, Zachary Payne of Chatsworth, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Payne, and Michelle Payne; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Wesley Williams all of Chatsworth, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry Joe and Rebecca Brown of Beaverdale Community; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Pandora and Michael Garrett of Benton, TN, and Shelly Gillespie of Chatsworth, GA; uncles and aunts, Joe and Janet Cearley of Eton, GA, Neva Stephenson of Crandall, GA, Kathy Gunther of Resaca, GA, Carolyn Duncan of Dalton, GA, and Ann Newton of Blue Ridge, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Timothy Ray Payne will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Michael Garrett and Reverend Tony Garrett officiating. The Garrett Family and Franklin Fortner will arrange the music.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 5:00 p.m. Saturday until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to assist the family will his final expenses.
