The Scottish Premier League has no plans to ban vuvuzelas from their stadia if the craze for the instrument spreads to Scotland.

The independent MSP Margo MacDonald has urged football chiefs to ban the trumpet-like plastic horns from their grounds after causing controversy at the World Cup.

The Hibernian season-ticket holder has written to SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster calling on him to act before their popularity with fans at the tournament in South Africa leads to supporters taking them to games in Scotland when the new season kicks off.
