Bart Simpson is a member of one of the most famous cartoon families on earth. He is quite naughty and rebellious but he can sometimes be helpful to others. You could find it to be quite easy to draw him if you follow these simple steps!

  1. Step 1 Start the outline sketch with a rectangle.
  2. Step 2 Outline sketch the face.
    Draw a cross line right at the middle of the rectangle.

  3. Step 3 Draw a circle for one of the eyes.
  4. Step 4 Add another circle for the other eyeball.
  5. Step 5 Continue with the actual line of the nose.
    Simply add a nose with an elongated oval.
  6. Step 6 Add the irises.
    Bart’s irises are simple dots.
  7. Step 7 Draw one curve line as part of the eyebrow.

  3. Step 3 Add the mouth.

Basic Bart

  1. Step 1 Start off with a sketch of a rectangle for the head and a smaller rectangle for the neck.
    Add some guidelines (not too darkly) for the face.
  2. Step 2 At the top of the head rectangle, draw spikes or zigzags for the hair.
    The spikes should blend into his forehead without any discernible hairline. (Don’t make them too large; Bart’s hair is not his primary feature, and you don’t want to take attention away from other parts of his body.)
  3. Step 3 Draw the facial features.
    Draw two overlapping circles for the eyeballs and two small circles inside the larger ones for the pupils. The eyeballs should be more in the middle of the face than near the top, and make sure to space them evenly. Next, add a small oval for the nose and a half circle for the ear. Don't draw the mouth for now.
  4. Step 4 For the body, draw two overlapping circles.
    The circle on the top should be smaller than the circle on the bottom.
  5. Step 5 Draw two connected ovals for each arm, a circle for the hand, and smaller ovals for the fingers.
    The finger ovals should be more elongated than the others, and if you want to draw him holding something, curl them around each other.
  6. Step 6 For both legs, draw rectangles.
    Add a half oval to each for the feet. Sketch in a T-shirt, shorts, and shoes. Keep them basic--Bart’s attire is characterized by its simplicity.
  7. Step 7 Outline the whole image and curve the lower part of his head to make the mouth.
    Add in more details and erase the guidelines.
  8. Step 8 Color in your drawing and there you go!

    No. In the canon episodes, it isn't mentioned in which USA state they live, but it's implied and was announced by the creators that they live in Oregon, or at least that Springfield is based on the real Springfield, Oregon.
