John van de Ruit is an actor, playwright and author who was educated at Michaelhouse and received a Masters degree in Drama and Performance studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His debut novel, Spud, is a publishing phenomenon in South Africa, smashing all local fiction records. Following Spud’s release in September 2005, he published three sequels. The Spud series has sold over half a million copies in South Africa alone. A feature film of John’s first novel, Spud, was released in in December 2010 starring John Cleese and Troye Sivan. The film debuted at number one at the South African box office and is being distributed internationally.

Springbok Rugby player
Springbok and Sharks flyhalf Pat Lambie (23) was schooled at Michaelhouse in the Natal Midlands. Lambie was capped by South Africa at schoolboy level before starring for their under-20 side. He broke into the Sharks' Super 14 side during the 2010 season, making his debut from fullback. During the Natal Sharks' Currie Cup campaign he was shifted into centre and then flyhalf as his influence on the side grew. Pat subsequently won his first Springbok cap against Ireland that same year and has since represented his country 32 times at senior level. When he isn’t playing rugby, Pat likes to play golf, surf and spend time in the bush with his family.

29 year old investment manager, Graham Jenneker was named South Africa Ultimate Survivor of M-Net’s Survivor South Africa: Champions
Graham is a charming, ambitious all-rounder and analytical thinker who is as comfortable behind the books as he is on the sports field. Newly-promoted at a major bank, working as a Junior Investment Manager at Investec, Graham already has two degree and is studying towards his third.
Sven is a dynamic local actor who is best known for his role as Rambo in the “Spud” films. “Spud”, “Spud: The madness Continues” and “Spud: Learning to Fly”. Other films include “Zulu” co-starring opposite Orlando Bloom and Forrest Whitaker. “Outpost 37”, The Warner Bros film “House Party: Tonights the Night”’, and the Ellen DeGeneres film: “Sophia Grace and Rosies Royal Adventure.”
He has appeared in numerous television series including “Beaver Falls” and “Bluestone 42” for the BBC. Sven has recently played the role of Puck in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in Cape Towns Maynardville Theatre. And will next be seen in the production of “Alice in Wonderland” at Canal Walk.
He is also a motivational speaker for underprivileged schools in Cape Town with the JAG Foundation and the Bullyproof campaign and is an ambassador for the Stop Hunger Now SA project.
Considered a role model throughout the African continent, she has demonstrated compassion for others throughout her career. Yvonne has taught literacy, promoted the rights of women, and never stopped to work to protect children everywhere.
Her numerous accomplishments, and endurance in a demanding industry, can be attributed to an indomitable will and a childhood guided by the strength of her mother, Sophie Machaka.

As the Google Doodle team lead Ryan Germick manages the artists behind Google’s ever-changing homepage logos, and himself has directed, illustrated, designed,, animated and collaborated on more than 100 “doodles”, including those celebrating Pac-Man, Les Paul, Star Trek, Charlie Chaplin, Dr. Seuss and Sesame Street. He was amongst the nerdiest students in art school (Parsons School of Design) and has been one of the artsiest nerds at Google since 2006. Germick is middle child from a creative family in in Northwest Indiana.

In this role he is responsible for the implementation of the country reputation management strategy globally; ensuring stakeholder alignment and buy in and implementation of initiatives to mobilise South Africans, at home and abroad, behind their country brand. In 2010 he was responsible for overseeing the implementation of Brand SA’s successful World Cup 2010 international and domestic mobilisation campaign.
