Don't buy - On third machine in 5 months
Jonˇ Review provided by walmart.com ˇ November 29, 2024
Listen to me - Don't buy this machine.

Normally, I don't write reviews but my experience with this Keurig machine (and Keurig as a company) has been so terrible that I simply had to write this review.

I bought this machine after the Keurig K-Duo I purchased from Sam's Club quit (barely lasted two years). I went with this machine because it was cheaper than the Sam's Club variant (same machine, no auto timer / clock on this one). Bought it in June of 2024 and it was dead in October 2024, didn't even make it to three months before the water pump failed. So when I pressed the brew button, nothing would happen.

Considering was still under the manufacturer's warranty, I called Keurig customer support and that is where the fun began. And by fun, I mean terrible experience of dealing with India-based call center. After explaining the issue, I had to go through a twenty minute diagnostic over the phone for a machine that I explained would not pump water so couldn't test. After the nthteenth time explaining I cannot brew because the pump didn't work, they finally ordered me a replacement which I received quickly.

I wish I could say that was the end of the story, but it's not. The warranty replacement brewer has now failed. This time, the hot plate that keeps the carafe warm doesn't heat. So the light comes on showing its one, but plate doesn't warm up. I got the replacement right at the beginning of October and it failed a few days before Thanksgiving, so barely two months before it failed.

Once again, I call my delightful friends at Keurig India. On the first call, I explain what happens...that's right, first call. You see, after I explained to them I was calling on warranty replacement and gave them the SN from the machine, the rep started having phone system problems and hung up on me. Needless to say, I wasn't happy; which the second rep learned quickly. After another twenty-minute troubleshooting, a second replacement was ordered (thus the third machine in 5 months) which I received today. I don't have high hopes this one will last.

I bought this because I wanted a machine with a carafe. I also don't buy K-Cups, but I have filters to brew single cup so I can use any coffee I want. There was a time where I felt Keurig made a quality machine, that opinion is not there. I urge anyone considering this machine to do yourself a favor and don't buy it. I am almost to the point of even saying to not buy Keurig at all if they cannot stand behind their products.
Didn’t Last Long 😒😞

I thought that this Keurig was going to last me a long time. But sadly, it did not. It only lasted me 10 months. When I first got the Keurig it worked fine, and I really liked it, because it had both of a single serve and cute little craft coffee pot as well, to make more coffee for guests. It started acting up in March, I noticed that when I used the single serve part it wouldn’t even brew the coffee all the way through to a full cup, and sometimes when it did, it would leave a whole bunch of coffee grounds in my coffee in which I hated. I also noticed while the single serve was having a hard time brewing coffee. When it was done brewing, the water would go to the craft part while steaming up, the coffee pot. I think the reason why it started acting up is because it may have had issues, after a while with brewing, since the single serve in the carafe coffee pot, share a water tank. So therefore, I think maybe it would get confused with which side it needed to brew the coffee out of. Which is strange, I think. Because it was working just fine in the previous months before it malfunctioned. And with knowing which side of the Keurig to brew the coffee out of, the single serve side, or the craft side. But with that being said, I never had any problems out of the craft little coffee, pot side of the Keurig, when I would use it. I don’t recommend getting this coffee maker, because it will not last you a long time, especially if you love drinking coffee and tea, like myself. 😍☕ 🫖
Use to think this was a great coffee maker

I'm on second Keurig K-Duo Essentials Black Single-Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker which didn't even last one day before it became inoperable. First was purchased October 2023 and performed great up until last week when it stopped brewing and then stopped all together, no power, nothing.

I have to give kudos to the Keurig's customer service group though. After performing several troubleshooting steps the rep asked me to send an email with a list of details and upon review they would most likely send me a replacement unit; which they have -- still waiting on its arrival this week. However needing my coffee fix, I purchased another (can always put in the camper for guests to use). That brings me back to the beginning of this review. That unit made it through the pre brew process and hasn't brewed a full carafe out of three attempts. I will be contacting customer service again to get this one resolved now too.

Now to see how well the replacement unit does when it gets here on Tue/Wed. If it fails I may go back to Hamilton Beach. That one lasted us for nearly six years before it sprang a leak and had to be replaced.

That's not to say I that I may not give a Keurig another try with a different model, but right now I am not impressed with the K-Duo Essentials. But as I told wife, "it is the 'cheaper' Walmart version and not one of the more pricey ones at Amazon or Keurig. Time will tell. More to come I'm sure.
Expired Warranty

I like the idea of this being a combo copy maker. My only critique would be the heating pad. It would be nice if it stayed on longer than it does after you brew a pot my other issue is that even though I bought this new online through Walmart they have warranty card inside is expired and the coupons for coffee pods expired in June 20 24 and I just got the coffee maker last week October 2024. This happened before with another product I bought apparently the shelflife is longer than anticipated by the seller. It would've been nice to get a unit that would still be under warranty.
