December 8, 2024i love this book, infact it's one of those that almost makes you sad towards it's end (its that interesting) have always loved sinead as an artist, a true and inspiring character and for all that she believed in. the book covers many things from her childhood, her music and some other artists she collaborated with. i particularly love the way she talked about sly and robbie, it's awesome! sinead was such a character, a real irish treasure and the loss of her was heart breaking to those of us that loved and understood her!
Original and Honest

July 17, 2021I knew that Sinead's life had not been easy from little bits I'd picked up over the years so I was eager to read this first hand account from the woman herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed journeying with Sinead and found her story entirely relatable and written in such a natural, powerful yet understated manner.
In Rememberings, Sinead gives a bird's eye view of growing up in extremely harsh circumstances whilst also giving insight into her unique talents, her thought processes, her experiences as a very young woman in the music industry machine and ultimately a path to acceptance and healing.
I'm impressed by the author's ability to tell her story whilst also being very selective about how much she gives away. I'm full of admiration at her talents and her survival.
Many insights into Irish Catholic life, the patriarchy, love's expansiveness and the irreverence and humour in the Irish soul.
The book has definitely inspired me to check out more of Sinead O'Connor's music.

October 6, 2023Funny like Irishman Roddy Doyle, sad like all stories about children living in poverty, courageous and happy as the result of Sinead's life long rebellion successfully
1) helped to stop priests abuse of children in Ireland and elsewhere,
2) helped reform Irish legislation for women and children's rights, and
3) close down the horrific Magdalena houses for mistreated women.
What a crazy hero :) and what a funny writer!
Fit perfectly

August 26, 2023Kind of hard to read, quite sad, ( a very horrible and beyond that even, childhood) especially in light of her passing. Certainly sheds light on why she had so many hard times/ challenges after childhood. Wish it had been better for her - she deserved better. Kind, sensitive and extremely talented. RIP
